Do we have a lot of tarpon, and I mean a lot. There are tarpon by the thousands in the passes, on the beaches and in the bay. If you can’t find a tarpon to cast to in five minutes, you must be blind — they are everywhere.
We had a great week. It is really nice to get out of bed in the morning, hop in the boat, and just know you are going to have a great day battling multiple tarpon. I had a couple of days with multiple triple hookups. The only reason we did not drop a fourth line over the side is that we already had more than we could manage. It should stay strong at least until the full moon, and with the number of fish south of here I think we will fish them late into the month.
We did fish inshore one day and killed the trout, caught a lot of snook including one pushing 40 inches, and lost another about that size. We could not find any reds, but we were so busy with snook and trout we did not try very hard. Until next time, enjoy your time on the water.
